Everything about 2001: A Space Odyssey made me feel confident about the future.

My future. Our future.

35 years later, when the Skull & Bones allegiance of both Presidential candidates was exposed but not understood - I stated that George Bush shouldn't be allowed to bail on his horrendous mistakes in the upcoming election - and should be faced with the consequences of a second term.

I believed that "we" could certainly afford to "allow the unit to fail" in order to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

I may have been wrong.

Bowman and Poole had no problem realizing that they couldn't continue to let HAL run things. Unfortunately, we all remember what happened when they tried to disconnect a "crew member" they could no longer trust.

GOP memo touts new terror attack as way to reverse party's decline

A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."

The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could "validate" the President's war on terror and allow Bush to "unite the country" in a "time of national shock and sorrow."

The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections.

November Surprise.

Not able to actually have anything to do with another violent attack on America, it's been decided not to have one. Instead, the most hated figure in the Bush Administration; a man accused of War Crimes by foreign governments, has been sacrificed in order to spark the next level of conflict. The decision to lose, in order to strip down the Party; like the former Soviet Union shedding the Warsaw Pact in order to double it's defense budget though the rest of the world thought them defeated, is working like a charm.

These new Republicans know that those who tried to vote them out, can still be counted on to protect a fellow American when some foreign court tries to drag him off to prison, even though we all know that there's a long line behind Rumsfeld praying that the American People will take the bait again.

Karl Rove; unscathed, is referring to the mid-term as transient... like a speed bump.

The troops can now be "re-deployed"... to the four permanent bases within Iraq.

Rushing to celebrate their own peace dividend (LIFE TAKES VISA), those who innocently think they won should be watching the guilty who can't afford to lose, are still in power, and have one last window in which to save themselves by blaming a new enemy... Democrats.

The only Americans we can trust are Stewart, Colbert, and Olbermann (when he's serious).

The next attack on America will be the last because anyone left alive will deny their previous ideals, allegiances, and hopes, like a disciple pretending he has no Master 3 times before the cock crows, and THAT was the plan all along.

"America will not mind starting a war against Nigeria, if only to stop its former vice president from being tried in a Nigerian court." Operative word is vice. Bush (Sr) came to shove.
